Roof replacement in Columbus near Central Vineyard Church
In this job we did a full roof replacement over in Columbus, not too far from Central Vineyard Church. This was a solid project and our crew put in some real work on this one.
The homeowner had a roof that was way past its time. You could tell just by looking at it, the old shingles were cracked, curling, and just falling apart. When we got up there and started the tear-off, we found the old wood decking underneath was in rough shape too. Some of the original skip sheathing was totally exposed and you could see right through to the attic. Thats never a good sign. When you see this you can also assume that they had some major leakings.

Our guys took everything down to the bare bones. We replaced the damaged decking with new OSB board to give the new roof a solid base. After that we laid down TopShield 50-30 synthetic underlayment, thats the blue material you might of seen if you drove by(see attached photos). It keeps water out while we work and adds another layer of protection under the shingles.
Once the underlayment was down, we installed new architectural shingles across the whole roof. The crew also put in a proper ridge vent system along the peak. Ridge vents help your attic breath and keep moisture from building up inside. We nailed down the vent caps and finished it off with matching ridge cap shingles so everything looks clean and uniform.
This house is right near Schiller Park, where we do a lot of work around this part of Columbus and its always good to see these older homes getting the care they need.
