We always start a new roof with GAF Starter Strip Plus along the edges, which helps the first row of shingles seal down tight and keeps wind from getting underneath. The photo also shows a new pipe boot flashing going in around one of the vent stacks, which is a small detail that stops a lot of leaks down the road if its skipped. Our owner stays personally involved with every project and was right on the roof checking the work himself.
